Sometimes it’s hard to grip their cylindrical shape, which means they can be dangerous if dropped. In fact, it’s quite challenging moving drums manually and such a task could lead to injuries, strains or pulled muscles.

That’s why our extensive range of drum handling equipment is so important, because it reduces injuries and ensures your working environment is safe and productive. If your role or organisation handles or moves drums, then we’ve provided a quick overview and some essential safety tips regarding the types of equipment we have available.

Here at Materials Handling Pty Ltd we have different types of drum handling equipment that make operations much easier and safer. This equipment includes drum trolleys, drum rotators, crane drum grabbers, drum hoists and drum crushers. We also have systems and devices that can help lift and tip drums, as well as rollers, mixers and much more.

Here’s a quick overview of some of this equipment – for more information, simply click on each product image or skip down for our safety tips.

Drum trolleys

Drum trolleys are ideal for moving empty or fully loaded drums around a warehouse. They are extremely user-friendly and a great way for workers to move more easily. These devices also remove manual handling risks and prevent injuries. Available for a range of drum sizes, drum trolleys are fitted with either standard or large wheels (ideal for uneven surfaces) and even a steerable and braked third wheel (on specific models).

Drum Lifters

Drum lifters are excellent for industrial work due to their ability to safely and efficiently maneuver heavy drums, reducing the physical strain on workers and decreasing the risk of workplace injuries. By automating the task of lifting, drum lifters also increase operational efficiency, thereby enabling companies to optimize their workflow and productivity. Moreover, these devices can handle various types and sizes of drums, offering versatility that can adapt to a broad range of industrial settings.

Drum rotators

Available to lift and rotate a variety of different sized drums, whether by crane or hydraulics (attached to a forklift), this type of equipment allows drums to be emptied safely without manual handling. When attached to a forklift, the hydraulic rotators can also be used to pick up, move and deposit the drums from one location to another.

Drum grabbers

Attached to a lifter, forklift or crane, these drum grabbers are designed to operate in tough conditions and provide a safe solution for lifting and moving fully loaded drums. We even have a Grab-O-Matic that’s ideal when drums need to be lifted and moved on a continuous schedule.

Drum crushers

Drum crushers are designed to safely crush damaged or unwanted drums quickly and efficiently. With a high compaction force ratio and a completely enclosed chamber, our drum crusher is easy and safe to use. This makes disposing of drums easier and more efficient.
