Queensland-based testing laboratory, Acirl contacted Materials Handling for a manual handling solution. Their staff were handling large plastic tubs filled with samples for testing in the lab. These large tubs can become very heavy and present a risk of injury to the operators.
Our Mobile Platform Lifter is a strong and reliable lift-assist device that can be easily moved about the workspace. The trolley is fitted with a battery-powered lifting function that can lift loads up to 150kg. The standard product is supplied with a basic platform for general-purpose tasks. It is common for us to remove the standard platform and replace it with customised tooling.
In this instance, the customer is handling Nally IP018 plastic tubs. The tooling is designed to grip the tub under the rim, making use of the strengthening ribs that form part of the injection-moulded design. Care was taken to include retaining pins that prevent the tub from sliding off the tooling while the trolley is moved.
